WHITEHORSE, YK – The developers of Takhini, Yukon’s Hot Springs Resort, announce the highly anticipated project will join Tapestry Collection by Hilton, with Hotel Equities (“HE”) appointed as the management partner. The announcement marks a significant milestone for the transformative resort destination under development by Whitehorse-based real estate developer Joe Glynn, creating a premier destination for visitors traveling to Whitehorse, the capital city of the Yukon.

Set against a backdrop of natural beauty just off the Alaska Highway at KM 10 Takhini Hot Springs Road in Whitehorse, Takhini will serve as a modern gateway to the Yukon’s natural wonders. The master-planned, 305-acre development emphasizes refined rustic hospitality, community engagement, and authentic Northern experiences. The property is home to the world renowned Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs, and the Eclipse RV park. The phased development will add:

  • A lakefront, First Nations-inspired 60-room hotel, spa and conference facility
  • 68 resort-style suites and villas
  • 16 glamping cabins, including 3 glass-enclosed stargazer cabins and 13 rustic cabins
  • A charming gastropub and community gathering spot
  • An outfitter’s adventure centre for hunting, fishing, and Northern Lights viewing
  • Trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing

As part of Tapestry Collection by Hilton, the resort, expected to open next summer, will reflect the brand’s commitment to originality and local connection. Each Tapestry Collection property celebrates the vibrant spirit of its surroundings, offering guests an independent hotel experience backed by Hilton’s trusted service, global standards, and award-winning Hilton Honors program. By partnering with Hotel Equities, Takhini, Yukon’s Hot Springs Resort benefits from HE’s award-winning expertise in operational excellence and measurable results for stakeholders. The collaboration ensures the creation of sustainable growth and value for the surrounding community.

“Adding Hotel Equities to our team is a game-changer,” said Joe Glynn, Developer. “Their proven expertise in managing distinctive, experience-driven properties will help us realize our vision for Takhini as a premier destination for travelers and a cornerstone of the local economy. Together, we’re creating something that celebrates Yukon’s culture, its people, and its natural beauty.”

Earlier this year John Streicker, Yukon Minister of Tourism and Culture, said "The upcoming plans for Takhini are sure to add to Yukon’s reputation as a premier travel destination for years to come. The Government of Yukon congratulates the resort on this bold investment in the future of tourism in the Yukon."

The development is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including job creation during both construction and operations, with an emphasis on hiring local residents and members of nearby First Nations communities.

“Takhini Resort is more than a hospitality project; it’s an investment in people, culture, and sustainable growth,” added Jon Zwickel, Director of Real Estate Development. “We’re building a destination that reflects the spirit of the Yukon and its remarkable potential.”

“This development will be an extraordinary addition to Hilton’s growing portfolio in Canada,” said Martin Stitt, SVP of Operations for Hotel Equities. “With our Canadian team’s deep operational experience and strong alignment with Hilton’s standards, we’re proud to bring this vision to life, one that honors the region’s heritage while delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

“We are honoured to partner with Joe Glynn and Hilton to help shape such a meaningful project,” said Ryan McRae, SVP of Business Development at Hotel Equities. “This resort embodies the best of what we stand for: innovation, community partnership, and a deep respect for place. We look forward to supporting its long-term success.”
